The first time I went to Pennsylvania in the Fall I was hooked on pumpkins. That was 30 years ago, so living in central Florida is a challenge to find Heirloom pumpkins. How I work the season is all my friends are on the look out for Heirloom pumpkins and I drive all the stores crazy. I know this is a garden site and I did not grow these pumpkins BUT I am glad you guys in the North did. Thank you!
This was very exciting to find all these colors in one store. I have even gone as far as bringing them home on the plane from vacation, you guys bring home oranges I bring home pumpkins.
We do not get much Fall in Central Florida so we have to make do. I planted all my mums last year and they came back all white. If you know why let me know. Decorating this potting bench is another way I bring Fall to my garden. Happy Fall y'all Pumpkin

Hey Janis,
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love the heirloom pumpkins, too. You really know how to do it up for harvest season! It was great to visit with you yesterday and to see all the 'pumpkin' decorating you have painstakingly placed in your home and garden. I just love your garden!
Meems
Your garden is just so fun even without the pumpkins. With the pumpkins it is a true tribute to Fall. I can't believe you don't grow pumpkins. You really should try a few vines next year. Although, you certainly have plenty without growing your own. Can't wait to see what you do for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those little retro silhouettes by your front gate. If they go missing, do NOT come looking for them at my house! :) Do you remember where you got them?
ReplyDeleteYou fly with pumpkins, I fly with rocks (for my little pond.) I've even managed to avoid extra baggage fees ... so far.
Oops, just realized, those are not at your front gate. Darn it.
ReplyDeleteHi Janis...Love your pumpkin collection. It is hard to find some unique ones, but I think they're becoming more and more popular. I wish I could have made it to your fall party.
ReplyDeleteMeems, Thank you. I had a great time on Saturday too and I am glad you could join us.
ReplyDeleteNanaK, I have grown pumpkins, but the Florida heat gets them and they wilt:(
Penny, They came from The Barn Shops in Lake Alfred. No extra charges for my pumpkins yet:)
Susan, I think the heirlooms are becoming more popular, they were on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens and Southern living this month.I will email Meems with the Christmas Tea date and may be you can make that. Janis
